Soooooooooo...

I got Windows 7 (downloaded version) a day or two before Christmas cause Vista stopped working right and said, "This is a unregistered version of Windows Vista" and blah blah blah. It's been an issue for a while since my product key at the bottom of my laptop never worked...
So I just decided to upgrade. But we were away in Michigan and I had to back up my files before I erased Vista. So when I got home, I backed up stuff, went ahead with installing W7 and it was all going along smoothly until I remembered I still had the CD in the driver with all my art for my portfolio. And being the paranoid person that I am and not wanting to risk losing those files while my computer was erasing everything, I immediatly opened the drive while Windows was still at the black screen opening up and it jumped. o.o

My immediate reaction was, "Oh shii- did I just do something?..." .-.

And then Windows 7 opened up and everything was....bigger.... Like, y'know when something went wrong with restarting your system and all the sudden the icons, windows, and everything on the screen is BIG. Yeah, that's what I saw. Now, I didn't really panic at first cause I thought, "oh...well that goes away after you restart again. I'll get it in a sec." Which I did....to no avail though. So I changed with resolution and stuff and it didn't do a thing... So one question here is....

PEOPLE WITH WINDOWS 7: ARE THE ICONS AND WINDOWS ALL SLIGHTLY BIGGER THAN ON PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF WINDOWS? IF NOT, PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN FIX THIS. IT'S REALLY ANNOYING.

Onto my next computer rant..... So after all that I figured, screw it. whatever. And proceeded to reinstall my programs, most importantly, Photoshop CS3, Photoshop Elements 7, and my wacom tablet. Elements and my tablet installed and worked fine. BUT I CAN'T GET PHOTOSHOP TO INSTALL. I think it's because I didn't disable and uninstall it on Vista.... If that is indeed that case....then F***!!!!!!!!! (sorry for language....this is just really frustrating...)

So here I am....last night I discovered that elements is lame cause it doesn't have a animation option....so to those I owe icon requests to, I'm very sorry, but I can't animate them now. (yes I know GIMP is out there and MS paint but I'm too hooked on Ps to go back to those again... >.>; )

I got enough Christmas money from my dad that I could just buy another Ps CS3 from Amazon but I thought...do I really want to right now...what with this other possible issue with Windows 7 I could just be wasting money...

Anyone reading this have any ideas or suggestions?

Because of my inactivity, this is my Christmas present to y'all, A Journal Post!

I know, I know...I'ma douche-y ferret Oh well. I haven't really had time to do any art for myself, let alone other deviants. So sorry about that

Anywho, Hope y'all are having a good Christmas. And a Happy New Year!

THE BASICS: Write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.

STEP ONE

** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA.

** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!


STEP TWO

** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Well, I've seen most people say that this is just kinda silly but I don't think so. I think it's a good way to see what other people would like or appreciate without asking them directly and then be expected to roll out the dough for something they may want. So it takes the pressure off the giver and humbles the receiver, cause some one may be able or want to surprise you with a gift, or they may not be able/want to. (oh, and I'm using this as my list for my parents as well, more focusing on the action figures bit, really. So I really don't expect anyone to go for those on the list. x3 )

Wish List

1)hm.... well I can't really put the first few in a order cause they're all of equal importance to me. So here they are collectively as #1:
As childish or naive (or whatever you wanna call it) as it may sound, I just want to settle down and find someone to be and stick with. I've really never been a fan of playing the dating game. I date for the long term and it typically evolves into lifetime thinking.
I'm very grateful for my family. They've been very supportive throughout the past rough 3 years. Nevertheless, I was adopted by them from Bolivia and I never knew my biological parents. So I really want to meet them. Or if they're gone, then to learn their story of how and why I came to be here.
I want to make atonement for hurting this one person. I want to earn their forgiveness. I know they may never be able to completely forgive me no matter what I do, but it's like...y'know how ghosts are said to stay behind in our world because their souls cannot rest for some typically traumatic reason, like from being murdered, etc.? Well, if such a phenomenon does occur, and it happened to me when I die, I think this would be my reason; from seeking forgiveness.

um...Squall Leonhart. I want him. In person. I don't care if he's just a video game character created by Square Enix. I WANT HIM. 8D OMG I LOVE YOU SQUALL!!!!!!!!!! I'D DO ANYTHING FOR YOU SQUALL!!!! 3)Alright on a more serious note, I would love a Squall plushie. Like, that would make my nights so much nicer to have a little Squall to cuddle. Specifically, I came across this really adorable chibi Squall plushie.

I asked the artist if they would be willing to make a duplicate. Unfortunately, they weren't able to but they did give permission to commission another artist to make one just like it.

On art news though, I do have one thing to say:
Been going through an art block and lack of inspiration so that explains my appeared absence here. Really though, I am online everyday and usually hanging out in the BlackScythePackChat while doing homework and other such things. I've been trying to force myself out of this slump but it's not getting that far, only been able to push out one drawing that I just posted today. To my absolute horror though, while drawing on paper today I saw my perspective and basic anatomy had suffered quite a bit after not drawing for such a long period. Not really surprised though. Just saddened by it...my doodles didn't even turn out well. But there's only one thing to do about it...set aside some time and draw, draw, draw. (though I still don't really know what to draw >> )

So yeah, this has been a quick peak into the life of Ferret. Hope you enjoyed it. x3
